Ir. Tan Chee Hong

Ir. Tan was born in Kuala Lumpur in 1969 and graduated with a B.Sc. (Honours) in Civil Engineering from the University of Newcastle, Australia in 1993.

Ir. Tan started his engineering career as Design Engineer with VSL Engineers Sdn. Bhd. which is a specialist post-tensioned contractor firm in 1993. In 1996, he joined RSP Akitek as an in-house structural engineer for the architectural firm. In realising RSP’s philosophy in creating a multi-disciplined consultancy practice, he had jointly assisted in setting-up the Civil and Structural department i.e. under the company name of RSP Engineers Sdn. Bhd. in 1998 and was appointed a Director from 2002 to 2019. During his tenure in RSP Engineers Sdn Bhd, he had completed numerous iconic highrise buildings together with his fellow partners and a team of experienced engineers. In late 2019, Ir Tan and fellow directors left RSP Engineers Sdn. Bhd. to form a new Civil & Structural consultancy firm i.e. SOE Consult Sdn Bhd.

Ir. Tan’s engineering experience includes design and construction supervision involving both post-tensioned and RC conventional system in building developments. He is fully conversant with British and Australian Design Codes.

Dr. Kong Sia Keong

Dr Kong started his career in 1993 working as a Research Engineer at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and he has obtained his PhD in seismic retrofitting of existing buildings on part-time basis in 2003 from National University of Singapore. He joined RSP Architects Planners & Engineers Pte Ltd in Singapore in 2003 and he was promoted to Director of Engineering of RSP Engineers Sdn Bhd in Malaysia in 2007. He held the Director position of RSP Engineers Sdn Bhd until 2019. In late 2019, Dr Kong and fellow directors left RSP Engineers Sdn. Bhd. to form a new Civil & Structural consultancy firm i.e. SOE Consult Sdn Bhd.

Dr. Kong has over 25 years of experience in design of structures in geographic regions with high seismic/high wind design requirements. In addition to the projects in Malaysia, He has undertaken projects in more than 10 overseas locations, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Riyadh, Accra, Lagos, Delhi, Yangon, Mandalay, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore.
